For Aaqilah's birthday, I've decided to go with Red Velvet cupcakes. Been dying to try this for quite some times, but haven't really had the opportunity until this one came. For here little occasion at school, I had to prepare for 100 cupcakes and made her a cake too. It's not a complete birthday celebration until someone blows her candles and finishes with cake cutting, is it?

The best topping for red velvet is surely cheese cream, they compliment each other really well. Knowing kids, I opted for buttercream as I was well aware that some kids or maybe most of them won't appreciate cheese cream as much as we do.

Couldn't think any better of the decorations, and awe-inspiring one from Hummingbird's.

Workshop weekend

It's another workshop weekend for Cupsters, many thanks to Kak Haslina of Hiruani Enterprise for her trust to bring Cupsters again. We took another shot at chocolate cupcakes with chocolate buttercream frosting and vanilla cupcakes topped with lemon buttercream.

Cupsters the Project - Day 3

Need I say more?

Purposely baked for the last day of the workshop, here comes my favorite. I just love the combination of bitterness and sweetness that came from the cupcakes and ganache. Aa, dreamy..

Cupsters the Project - Day 2

If we started the first day with chocolatey flavor, then I guessed it would be better to attract people with something opposite. Hence, it's vanilla cupcakes with lemon buttercream, voila.

The bar that we set on the first day, was raised to another level. Although there's a minor challenge we had to face unexpectedly, at last it's manageable. 150++ minis, done!

note: Lemon we used here is actually to enhance the buttercream flavor, and it's not that tangy. Fresh and citrous, believe me.

Cupsters the Project - Day 1

It's a 3 days project for Cupsters to prove what it's worth. A challenge that I've never encountered before, to bake 100-150 cupcakes in a day. Although it's a mini version, yet the quantity we're producing is such a nerve-wrecking. Excited, yes but I felt anxious and clueless at the same time. From the bottom of my heart I truly hope that people will like it and everything went smooth. Hopefully, amin..

Day 1 we came up with Chocolate cupcakes with buttercream.

As I was perfecting my piping skill this early morning, I realized that one of the inspirations came from Daisy by Marc Jacobs. The perfume is so cute, but mine still needs a lot of work to do. Perfection is a long way ahead.

Self indulging and comforting.

Being a chocolate lover, any recipes which involves cocoa and chocolate will always be my top priority. Those were the days that I didn't allow myself to enjoy others as I was too picky and well, quite fussy. Years passed by and slowly I realized that it's not only chocolate that can be comforting although to me, chocolate has always been such a comfort and quite addictive.

This is a moist, airy, rich chocolate coffee (source: Wikipedia) cupcake that has bitter sweet taste, makes you want for more.

For chocolate lovers like myself and I am pretty sure that most of you people, chocolate ganache complements the cupcake. But fret not, we do have other toppings as well, such as cream cheese and my favourite blue buttercream. Cuteness.
